Garrett Best

Garrett Best grew up in Gardendale, AL. He met his future wife Robin in the youth group at the Decatur Highway Church of Christ. After high school, he attended Freed Hardeman University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible and Spanish with a minor in New Testament Greek in 2010. After graduating, he married Robin and they moved to Bartlett, TN where he served as a preaching minister for the Oliver Creek Church of Christ from 2010-2015. While preaching there, he completed the Master of Divinity degree at Harding School of Theology in Memphis, TN. Upon completion of his master’s degree, he was accepted to the PhD program in Biblical Studies at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY. In August 2016, he began preaching for the Nicholasville Church of Christ along with Kevin Burr. In September 2015, Garrett and Robin welcomed their son Jackson into the world, and in July 2018 their daughter Anna joined the family. Garrett has spent time abroad studying Spanish and participating in mission efforts in Mexico, Paraguay, and Costa Rica and works with the Iglesia de Cristo which meets on our campus beginning July 2018. He enjoys reading, traveling, camping, and rooting for Alabama football. 

Kevin Burr

Kevin was born and raised in Nashville, TN, growing up at the Donelson Church of Christ. He earned a B.A. and M.S.E. in History and Social Studies from Harding University in Searcy, AR where he met his wife Linnea who is also from Nashville. Kevin then studied at the Harding School of Theology in Memphis, TN earning a Master of Divinity while teaching classes at the Church of Christ at White Station in Memphis. In the fall of 2014 Kevin, Linnea, and their dog Gibson moved to Lexington, KY so Kevin could begin his PhD in Biblical Studies at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY. In August 2016 Kevin began preaching and teaching for the Nicholasville Church of Christ where he also leads singing and teaches the teens. In November 2017 Kevin successfully completed his Comprehensive Exams, earning him the status of Doctoral Candidate (ABD). In July 2016 the Burrs had their first child, Peter, and they are expecting their second in January 2019. Kevin enjoys hiking and spending time with his family, playing ultimate frisbee, reading, and keeping up with the latest Apple computer products.
